This on board device provides chuff and hiss sound that is electronically triggered by the turn of the axle for proper cadence with the engine's drive wheels. Once adjusted it will not go out of cadence when cars are added or removed from the train, the way that competitors' voltage driven systems read. The 13/16" x 3/4" amplifier board contains a switch. Power comes from a 9 volt ALKALINE battery so that there is full sound from the first turn of the wheel. System comes with a 1" speaker and additional speakers can be added. The entire system is small enough to fit in some tenders or in a car directly behind the engine. Use a RAM 59 for rail power.
